The Alpha and Omega
I have thought it over for the weekend and after another $100 lost in gambling. I decided that this is enough. In total I have lost $450 last week. Treat it as a lesson not to trust poker online anymore. I have also consider over the weekends for the expensive bowling hobby. My solution has been decided. This coming Wednesday at school trainings, if I were to perform badly for the games. I will stop every personal bowling trainings unless it is a sponsored game.
I have a lot to write today in my blog and I can spend the next few hours writing. Over the weekends, I have done a research about personal bowling balls and found out that they have a life span of around 360 games since the moment it rolled off. I have also found that bowling is not the second expensive sport it is the most expensive sport compared to golf. Purchasing a golf set can last you for life and your clubs would not wear off. Assuming one day a bowler plays an average of 5 games, in 2 months he / she must change his bowling ball to a new one for best performance.
A personal bowling ball costs over $300 and could last you only 2 months before it wears off. While a golf club set may cost over thousands but judging from the life span, golf is cheaper than bowling. Thank God for opening my eyes to see this error which would cost me thousands of dollars in the near future. My goals for this Wednesday bowling training is to get an 150 average per game, otherwise I will quit. I mean it seriously as I do not wish to spend money on something which would not help or enhance me.
Today, my mum asked me how would I want to celebrate my 21st birthday? I replied, just a simple outside meal will do, as I do not really need grand celebrations. I do not want my mum to spend a lot of money for the celebration as I find it meaningless to do it. It is just 21st birthday nothing much special. I do not understand why people would want to hold a grand celebration for their 21st birthday when they are not even paying for the expenses? We must be independent and not add burdens to our parents.
The best gift for my 21st birthday will be regaining my past hobbies and be able to support myself. Life is like Alpha and Omega, everyone was born for a reason. In Singapore, life is not easy, you need certifications for jobs. The real jobs that makes the most money would be the casino and financial industry. I once have a dream to be a croupier when I complete my national service. However, I have a feeling that being a croupier meant harming others. However, to a certain degree, gamblers enter the casino to have their money doubled or lose it all away. So confusion starts again, is it a bad thing to be a croupier?
When I was 14 years old, I stayed at Bedok South and it was near East Coast Park bedok jetty. When the school holidays come I will always cycle to bayshore underpass and towards Bedok Jetty for fishing. During that time, there were a lot of fishes and I gain my fishing skills from there. The most popular fish of Bedok Jetty till now would be the “Taman” fish. It does not require any bait, just a feather rig would do the trick. Sometimes during fish crowds, one rod can fish up to 7 Taman fishes.
Everyone was racing who fishes the most tamans up in a go and a 14 hooks rig appeared. There was a uncle using it and fish up 10 taman fishes at once. My best shot was only 7 which was a full house and it was very difficult to handle. 7 years back at Bedok Jetty, there were no permits for opening a shop on the jetty. There was a elderly uncle selling drinks, snacks and fishing hooks everyday at the jetty no matter rain or shine. That was when my first business idea came up which was selling drinks at a cheaper price of that elderly uncle. I was 14 when I first earn money myself on selling canned drinks at the jetty.
The business was great and everyone was purchasing from me. I was selling those canned drinks on my June, December holidays and the rest of the days the elderly uncle took the business. That elderly uncle soon passed away due to his age, and I was very sad because I stole some of his customers before for my drinks business. It was until when I was 16 a store area was built and if one would like to sell drinks on the jetty must apply for a permit which costs money. I completely stop selling drinks after that as there were rangers scouting for illegal sales.
Beautiful memories all at Bedok Jetty, till today, I cannot forget every incident that happened on the jetty. There was 1 incident when a uncle stole my fishing spot and I started quarreling with him. Injuries from fishing were common because I do not know which species were poisonous or have sharp fins around the neck until I was educated by some uncles and my parents. Currently at Bedok Jetty, I can name all the dangerous fishes that can be caught.
Alright so here is the list for dangerous fishes that can be caught up at Bedok Jetty. Black Grouper, Rabbit Fish, Queen Fish, Stingray, Leather Jack, Todak. These were the common ones that are dangerous, however there were rare fishes that were even poisonous so do not touch unknown fishes lying on the jetty.
Wow I have reached 1014 words for today’s blog and I still have a lot to say. I guess I have to continue some other day because I am getting tired. Many of my friends say that I can write a story book when composing a blog post as most of the posts were over 300 words. Well, I just love to type. Anyway, I have asked my friends on FaceBook if they would like to go fishing at Bedok Jetty later.
