SBST worst transport ever

SBST stands for Singapore Bus Service Transit. It is Singapore largest civilian bus transport service and one of the worst in the world. It is ridiculous, believe me you will need at least 35 minutes to reach a destination less than 1.5km.

Many of you know that I kept complaining in FaceBook about SBST service 291. Why? Because in Tampines, getting to the interchange is very difficult with service 291. Sometimes you will need 30 minutes to 45 minutes to reach Tampines interchange where the total distance is less than 1.5km. Blame it on the off peak periods, these 291 buses come in 30 minutes interval and SBST are clever operators. They have done research and make sure every 291 buses returning to the terminal will be packed.

Today, I left house at 2:20pm to the bus stop. I reached the bus stop at 2:23pm and there were many students from Jun Yuan Secondary School. It was ridiculous, the IRIS system screwed up and 5 minutes arrival time became 15 minutes. The bus finally came at 2:47pm fully packed. While the next bus arrives at 2:54pm I knew that I could not have my MacValue lunch anymore as it ends at 3:00pm. I was furious, and cursed at FaceBook.

I went to the convenience store below my block and bought a bowl noodle. SBST really needs to improve service 291, 292, 293 what for improving other services where a very old and known problem still exists? Sometimes, during evenings I can see time keepers holding some paper keeping track of 291 buses timings. Why keep track of those timings? The bus captains might fear that they come late and get demerit points.
