My Network Resurrection Planout
As you know, Google had flagged down my entire network accept www.SgRichBoy.net due to my entire network being hacked by an long ago discovered exploit. Since last Sunday, I have already fixed SamOnn.com however some pages were lost. I have to rebuild everything from the start accept my beloved posts which still remain intact.
The exploit was by a plugin named TimThumb. Hackers can exploit this bug on older TimThumb versions. The hacker usually installs a redirection Iframe tag to another website or download a content such a trojan horse to your system. Google had since email and warn me the dangers of distributing Mal-ware, which could led to suspension of my entire network on Google listings. Now I am going to create a resurrection plan to save all my websites.
To fix the problem, I need to get the latest template installed where TimThumb exploit must be fixed. Delete the whole domain, and install a clean copy of WordPress in it with a new MySQL database. This problem caused me to lose interest in Web Development. However I have battled so many years and I cannot just give up to the hackers by a simple exploit.
So here is my plan to resurrect my entire network.
08 November 2011
- Resurrection of Sgrichboy.com.
- Complete 50% of contents rewrite at SamOnn.com.
09 November 2011
- Complete SamOnn.com.
- Resurrection of BraveGeek.com.
10 November 2011
- Complete SamOnn.net.
- Additional Bug Fixes.
- Verify all sites at Google Webmasters Tools.
To conclude, I would say that WordPress has much more exploits than other CMS such as Joomla, Blogger, ETC. Think twice if you would want to use WordPress and only use the plugins you trust. Developers can easily install malware on their scripts and make your website go down to drain.
